Wharda takes its name from the Arabic word for flower, yet the work resists any simple reading of bloom. Rising from a vertical 3 vine- spine and spilling outward into branching steel forms, the sculpture speaks to growth shaped by rupture and persistence. The form reflects my ongoing research into grief as a spatial and ecological condition. Wharda grows from this inquiry. It begins with containment and gradually opens, suggesting a process of emergence shaped by both constraint and care.
